Space Area

Overview

This rule checks that area of the spaces is inside given limits. With this rule, it is possible to check, that e.g. kitchens are larger than given minimum area and smaller than given maximum area.

Running this rule with the default values does not give useful results; this rule has to be configured before use.

Space Classification

Classification used for classifying spaces. Classification names are set in the Classification Name column of the Area Limits table.

Area Limits Table

This table lists the area requirements for specific spaces. The four first columns identified a space, you can use one or more columns in identification. The table has the following columns:

Space Name

The space name can either be unique or more generic, like Office. Again, depending on the source, this value may or may not be present in the model. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened, you can select a name from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.

For details, see Severity Parameters.

Analyzing the Results

The rule creates an issue for space, which area is outside given limits. They are organized to categories by their names. If the key of a space is not in Area Limits table, it creates an issue with  low severity.

Reported Data

The rule has a report of space and their sizes according to space names. Every row in the report tells how many spaces with one name and size exists in the model.
